BCPS Superintendent S. Dallas Dance will host the first of two Teacher Town Hall meetings planned for the 2013-14 school year. The event, which is open to all teachers, is designed to allow participants to dialog with Dr. Dance and to express viewpoints on education and school-related topics of their choosing. The forum also will be broadcast to the public through live-streaming on BCPS-TV (Comcast Cable Channel 73 and Verizon FiOS Channel 34) and the BCPS website, http://www.bcps.org/video/liveStream.html.

The Teacher Town Hall will be held at New Town High School on Thursday, December 5, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Dance also is expanding the voices participating in his annual fall Student Town Hall meetings. On Thursday, December 12, he will meet with high school students during the morning and, for the first time, middle school students in the afternoon. During the Town Hall meeting, students will ask and discuss unscripted and unedited questions. The exchanges will provide Dr. Dance with the opportunity to learn from students about how best to address their educational needs and issues. Both meetings will be available throughout county high and middle schools and once again will be available to the public through live-streaming on BCPS-TV and the BCPS website, http://www.bcps.org/video/liveStream.html. Student viewers of the high school forum will be able to submit questions to Dr. Dance via Twitter.

Both student town hall meetings will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Dundalk/Sollers Point Technical High Schools. The high school town hall is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the middle school town hall scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
